Greek island houses for rent

Friday, February 15, 2013

If you are thinking about renting a Greek island house in charming, picturesque surroundings, do take a look at my houses on the islands of Samos and Leros. I bought them up in 2004, and spend a lot of time doing them up until 2010 - this included a long sabbatical and many wheelings and dealings with many many workmen.
The houses are situated in picturesque, traditional villages, never too far away from beaches, shops and tavernas...

My houses on Leros and Samos are built in the island village style - thick stone walls, wooden beams, 2 floors high. While renovating them, I have taken great care to respect and retain their character. They can be rented both during winter and summer. So if you want to experience a touch of Greek life in a real Greek home, have a look at what follows. Each house is presented in detail - descriptions, photos, practicalities. ps: I can recommend combining Leros and Samos in one holiday. The islands are only 2 hours apart (by hydrofoil, it's a lovely 6-hour trip on the slow boat) and are distinctly different. Both islands have airports and aren't too difficult to reach from abroad. I'd be happy to provide you with any information you need.

Flying is cheaper now...

Good news in these times of crisis: Ryanair started to fly to Kos and Rhodos from various European destinations. More recently, the Cretan company Sky Express started flying to Samos from Kos, Rodos and other Greek islands. Friendlier prices ahead...
